Dr. R. Sivaraman, Associate Professor of Mathematics, Dwaraka Doss Governdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Chennai has more than two decades of teaching experience. He has been conferred with National Award for Popularizing mathematics among masses in 2016 by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He was conferred with Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Teaching award for the year 2018. He has also received two State Government Best Science Book Awards in 2011 and 2012. He has provided more than 300 lectures conveying the beauty, applications of Mathematics. He has written 23 books in view of popularizing mathematics among common man. He was a member of the Textbook Writing Committee, Tamilnadu School Education Department for preparing revised mathematics textbook for eleventh class and chairperson for tenth class. He has won more than 60 awards for his distinguished service to mathematics.

Has received more than 60 distinguished awards including National Award for popularizing mathematics from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Best Teacher Award from Indian National Science Academy (INSA), Nine Best Book Awards including two best book awards in Science from Tamil Valarchi Thurai, Government of Tamil Nadu, Best Scientist Award, Best Researcher Award and Lifetime Achievement Awards etc. 

What is your future vision to contribute in the field of Education and Research?

To establish professionals for future who could do active research in Science and make them write books, provide lectures and involve in popularizing mathematical activities. Helping poor and deserving students was my life motto and will continue to do all my life. Planning to guide more research scholars towards obtaining their doctoral degrees in mathematics and applied sciences.
